Job summary

Middlesex Public Library is seeking a dynamic Librarian for a full-time role focused on Youth Services and in-house Youth Services Librarian duties. The librarian will plan and promote programs for children and teens, develop collections, and collaborate with caregivers and schools.

Responsibilities include reference support for youth, expanding tween/teen collections, weed and promote materials, and participating in STEAM-infused programming across ages, with occasional support to adult

Qualifications

• Youth Services focus and reference services for children and families.
• Willingness to develop and promote STEAM/STEM programming.
• Ability to collaborate with adult services and educators.

Responsibilities

• Lead Youth Services programming for children ages 0-17 and caregivers.
• Develop and expand teen collections and tween programming.
• Weed collections, promote materials, and assist with outreach to schools and child-focused programs.
• Provide training and support for staff in youth services initiatives.
• Support adult services with occasional reference and programing as needed.
