Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science with a concentration in Children’s Services.
• Experience in children’s services highly desirable.
• Familiarity with technology is highly desirable.
• Certification by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners within two years of appointment is required.
• CORI certification is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct library services for youth birth to 11 and families.
• Develop and oversee programming, collection development, reference and readers advisory services, and public relations.
• Collaborate with the children’s and teen departments and act as a bridge liaison.
• Maintain confidentiality and trust in handling patron information.
