Job summary

The State of Missouri Division of Youth Services seeks a Youth Services Worker to provide treatment and ensure safety for youth in day treatment and residential programs. You will supervise, facilitate activities, and document progress while maintaining professional boundaries and cooperating with staff and families.

Responsibilities include supervision, counseling, group facilitation, medication dispensing, and incident response.

Qualifications

• 60+ earned credit hours from an accredited college/university with six credits in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work OR 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Special Requirement: Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Responsibilities

• Provide Awareness Supervision to youth, with responsibility for their conduct, care, and therapy.
• Monitor activity, behavior, and movement of youth in residential/day treatment settings.
• Maintain security and assist in physical restraints during emergencies to prevent escapes and gain control.
• Supervise youth in facilities during work, recreational, and religious activities; inspect health and safety hazards.
• Assist youth with personal issues and refer to the group per program rules; report significant behavioral conditions.
• Implement group and individual treatment plans and maintain youth records.
• Dispense medications to youth and respond to medical emergencies including CPR.
• Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations.
• Attend shifts and mandatory meetings; log hours and submit timesheets as directed.
