Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County is seeking a Youth Empowerment Professional to create daily SEL-based programs and mentoring for youth. The role emphasizes social-emotional learning, behavioral supports, and a safe, inclusive club environment.

Youth mentor will collaborate with staff, families, and partners, helping youth set goals, practice problem-solving, and develop leadership skills, while participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certification (available upon hire).
• Must pass local and national background check and pre-employment drug screening (RCW 49.44.240).

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and supervise daily SEL-based activities in designated program area.
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs that promote teamwork and emotional regulation.
• Supervise space to maintain a safe environment for all members.
• Collaborate with Branch Director and Kaila’s Kids staff to maintain a positive Club culture.
• Travel between work sites as needed and participate in team trainings.
