Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Safety and Support Coordinator for a 3rd shift at a high-security youth facility in Highland Park, MI. The role coordinates a group of youth, coaches staff, and links youth with facility management to maintain safety and security operations.

The ideal candidate communicates effectively, guides employees, and supports programs that promote growth and engagement with Spectrum’s mission in Michigan. A strong background in residential care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma and 1-year experience in a residential treatment/detention center.
• Preferred: Two years of college from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in a residential treatment/detention center.

Responsibilities

• Monitor youth activities and staff access
• Oversee safety programs and daily patrols
• Manage authorized and non-authorized visitors and outdoor areas
• Ensure fire safety and youth transportation
• Handle interviews, court hearings, medical appointments and hospital emergencies
• Crisis response and record-keeping
• Shift Coordinators observe and provide feedback to youth workers
