Job summary

Spectrum provides treatment and detention support for youth aged 12-20 in a highly secure facility. The Safety and Support Coordinator will coordinate the activities of an assigned group of youth, coaching staff, resolving issues, and linking subordinates with facility management.

The role covers safety operations, monitoring activities, and visitor management within Michigan’s high-security residential facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma and 1 year of experience in a residential treatment/detention center.
• Preferred: Two years of college and one year of experience in a residential treatment/detention center.
• Must complete and pass DHHS Central Registry Clearance; criminal background check; health clearance; valid Michigan driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor youth activities and staff access; oversee safety programs and daily patrols.
• Oversee authorized and non-authorized visitors, outdoor recreation areas, fire safety, youth transportation, interviews, court hearings, medical appointments.
• Crisis response, transportation duties, off-campus security, and record-keeping. On-the-floor leadership; provide feedback to youth workers.
