Burrell Behavioral Health seeks a Shift Lead for its Youth Residential program in Springfield, MO. You will mentor staff, supervise Behavioral Health Technicians, and help guide youth through treatment in a collaborative, therapeutic environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, group facilitation, and active involvement in program development, with comprehensive training and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or related field; OR a high school diploma with 2 years of responsible employment history.
• Must obtain First Aid certification within 3 months and maintain thereafter; CPR certification within 3 months and maintain thereafter.
• For Residential Care Facility programs, Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and Insulin Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts.
• Foster a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment promoting client growth.
• Monitor daily client activities and communicate observations to the treatment team.
• Assist with staff training, orientation, and ongoing development of technicians.
• Facilitate educational, recreational, and therapeutic groups as assigned.
• Coordinate staffing coverage and assist with scheduling needs.
• Prepare and organize educational materials and program resources.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts with program leadership.
• Ensure accurate documentation in EMR and regulatory standards.
• Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and provide ongoing feedback.
• Provide direct care support to clients in meeting treatment goals.
