Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston is seeking an experienced Part-Time youth programs assistant for the Galveston Club in Galveston, TX 77550. The role focuses on planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating a range of programs for members.

Responsibilities include promoting safety, guiding youth, and developing new activities to engage drop-in members daily. Strong communication and basic Office skills are required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience working with youth and families required.
• Demonstrated ability and interest in working with youth required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written required.
• Bi-lingual, English/Spanish is a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, supervise and evaluate programs and activities in Core Program areas (education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology and games room).
• Develop and foster healthy relationships with members.
• Recruit, train and manage assigned volunteers and provide ongoing feedback.
• Engage parents regarding opportunities and expectations of club members.
