Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Specialist at the Morefield Club in Houston, TX. This part-time position plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates programs across education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology, and games room to foster healthy relationships with members.

Responsibilities include creating engaging activities, promoting participation, supervising safety, managing facilities and equipment, and supporting budget-related tasks with the Club

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience working with youth and families.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and supervise programs in core areas (education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology, games room).
• Develop healthy relationships with members and provide guidance and role modeling.
• Organize noncompetitive activities for daily drop-in members and visitors.
• Identify opportunities for new programs benefiting club members.
• Monitor program achievement and suggest modifications to meet needs.
• Ensure a safe environment and supervise members; manage facilities and inventory.
• Recruit, train and manage volunteers; coordinate with the Club Director on budget.
