Job summary

The JCC of Staten Island is seeking a program-support role to assist the Program Director with the DYCD-funded Cornerstone program serving youth and adults in the NYCHA area and surrounding communities. You will oversee the after-school program, staff supervision, and grant-related records while upholding the JCC’s mission.

Responsibilities include program development, administration, marketing, and ensuring DYCD/DOH compliance, with strong coordination across departments and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or two years’ experience in a youth-serving program with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 30 hours training every two years.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Criminal history clearance.
  • NYS DOH fingerprints completed.
  • State Central Registry clearance documentation required.
  • Periodic health screenings (TB test) every two years.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Weekend and evening hours on a regular basis.
  • Independent judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Program development – plan, implement, and evaluate programs for youth; develop annual calendar and schedule activities.
  • Administration – maintain registrations, paperwork, and scheduling; manage supplies and transportation coordination.
  • Supervision of staff – assist in hiring, training, and coordinating staff in various areas.
  • Marketing/PR – develop materials with Marketing Director; contribute to program guide and newsletters.
  • Compliance – maintain knowledge of DYCD/DOH regulations; support site inspections and audits.
  • Data & reporting – enter data in DYCD Connect and report monthly service units.
  • Community partnerships – build relationships with schools, parents, partner organizations, and community served.
  • Outreach & engagement – promote programs and recruit participants; engage school liaisons and parents.
  • Advisory & youth council – assist with recruitment and co-facilitate monthly meetings.
  • General duties – participate in required functions and meetings; collaborate across departments.
