Job summary

The Jewish Community Center Of Staten Island is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Cornerstone after-school program funded by DYCD. You will assist the Program Director with program development, staff supervision, data collection, and ensuring high-quality service delivery in the NYCHA building and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, maintaining registrations, building community partnerships, and ensuring compliance with DYCD standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or two (2) years’ experience in a youth-serving program, with at least one year in supervision.
  • Minimum of 30 hours training every two (2) years.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Criminal history clearance.
  • NYS Department of Health fingerprinted.
  • State Central Registry clearance documentation.
  • Updated physical and tuberculosis/PPD skin test every two (2) years.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and programmatic skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects.
  • Weekend and evening hours regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development – plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services for youth in beacon after-school program, maintaining existing programs and developing new services to meet emerging needs.
  • Administration – Maintain registration and other program paperwork and coordinate room scheduling and setup.
  • Supervision of Staff – assist in hiring, training, supervising, and coordinating staff.
  • Marketing/PR – developing marketing/public relations for after-school program in conjunction with Marketing Director.
  • Compliance with DYCD standards – report monthly service units and maintain records.
  • Community Partnerships – develop relationships with participants, parents, school staff, partner organizations.
  • Outreach – promote program and engage with local coalitions and school liaisons.
  • Advisory Board & Youth Council – assist Director to recruit and co-facilitate meetings.
  • Attend required JCC staff meetings and training; work with other departments.
