Job summary

The Hampton Roads Community Action Program is seeking a Youth Counselor to design and deliver before and after school programming for middle and high school youth. You will recruit, enroll, and facilitate workshops, college tours, and other activities aligned with funding requirements, helping students access post-secondary options.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred or currently enrolled with at least 40 college hours completed.
• Expertise in MS Office—Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Document daily activities and attendance using the agency system.
• Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of students into programming.
• Prepare materials for workshop topics such as goal setting and college planning.
• Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Youth Team Leader.
• Promote and market the program in the community.
