Job summary

The Hampton Roads Community Action Program is seeking a part-time Youth Counselor to design and run before/after school activities for middle and high school students in Hampton. You will recruit, enroll, and facilitate college tours and other programming to expand post-secondary access.

Responsibilities include workshop prep, attendance tracking, reporting, and transportation support. Requires HS diploma, driving license, and MS Office skills; occasional evening/weekend work as funded.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; BA/BS preferred or enrolled.
• Expertise in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Valid Virginia driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Document daily activities and attendance using the agency system.
• Complete intakes, determine eligibility, and maintain youth files.
• Recruit, screen, and enroll middle/high school students into programs.
• Prepare materials for workshops on goal setting, study skills, and planning.
• Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to Youth Team Leader.
• Promote the program in the community and accompany students on college visits.
• Provide transportation for students and maintain the program vehicle.
