Job summary

YMCA of Delaware is seeking a School Age Site Intern for Sussex YMCA in Rehoboth Beach, DE. This part-time role supports youth programs and daily activities under supervision, emphasizing safety and development.

The intern will assist with daily care, classroom activities, and family communication; candidates must be 16+ and meet licensing requirements, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and meet one of the listed qualifications.
• Option 1: 3 college/university credits from regionally accredited college or university in recreation, elementary education, or school-age care/administration.
• Option 2: At least 15 clock-hours of quality-assured training in school-age care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and activities while maintaining safe, developmentally appropriate care.
• Provide daily care including feeding and supporting social/emotional needs.
• Assist in planning and participating in age-appropriate activities to foster learning.
