Job summary

The Piedmont YMCA is seeking a Director of Youth Development to oversee all youth programs, including Summer Camp, After School, and Out-of-School Camps, and to supervise five full-time Multi-Site Directors and part-time staff. The role drives program quality, staff development and community partnerships to serve children and families effectively.

The position requires strong leadership, budgeting, and compliance with Virginia regulations, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Three to five years of licensed child care or camp programming experience.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff and volunteers.
• Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all Youth Development programs and leads a team of five full‑time Multi‑Site Directors and part‑time staff.
• Directs planning, promotion, and day‑to‑day operations of OST programs including Summer Camp and After School.
• Ensures compliance with state/local regulations and YMCA policies.
• Develops staff performance, conducts evaluations, and manages staff training.
• Cultivates community partnerships and manages program budgets and fundraising activities.
