Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Youth Development Director to provide cause-driven leadership for before/after school care, summer camps, School’s Out programs, and teen activities. You will also drive the annual giving campaign and supervise staff to deliver high-quality youth programs.

Responsibilities include program operations, facility management, marketing, volunteer recruitment, and ensuring licensing and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum qualifications for “Program Director” as defined by the VA Department of Social Services Division of Licensing.
• Staff shall be in good character and reputation
• Meets a minimum age of 21 years or older
• A minimum of 48 credit hours from a college or university of which 12 credit hours are in child-related courses, plus 1 year of programmatic experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and management to licensed child care programs (Before/After School, Summer Camp, School’s Out Camp, teen programs).
• Lead annual giving and other association/department initiatives.
• Ensure programs meet/licensing and quality standards; recruit and train staff; manage volunteers.
