Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a dynamic Before and After School Care (YBASE) & Camp Director to lead YBASE and camp programming across multiple sites in Wisconsin. The role emphasizes curriculum development, staff coaching, and safe, engaging youth activities throughout school-year and summer programs.

The Director will supervise full-time staff, manage schedules, enforce health and safety standards, and collaborate with schools and community partners to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience; 240 hours related experience with children.
• Meets Wisconsin Child Care Licensing requirements or is qualified as School-Age Director through The Wisconsin Registry.
• Willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, and state registry certifications as needed.
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications and to travel to multiple work sites.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to interact with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises, and facilitates before/after school programming, summer camp, and ancillary programs.
• Trains, develops, schedules, and directs staff and volunteers as needed.
• Manages enrollment, waitlists, budgets, marketing support, and communication with families.
• Develops and maintains collaboration with schools and community organizations.
• Ensures safety protocols and program quality align with YMCA policies across locations.
