Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a School Age and Camp Assistant Director to lead high-quality Before and After School and Camp programming across multiple sites. You will directly implement curriculum, supervise Y BASE staff, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children.

The role requires at least 21 years old with 240 hours of approved education setting experience, Wisconsin licensing compliance, and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED and other required certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• Must meet Wisconsin Child Care Licensing requirements via listed credentials or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of one-year experience with school-aged children; one-year camp experience.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, and Wisconsin Registry certifications.
• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse populations.
• Strong communication and scheduling flexibility across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality Before and After School and Camp programming across multiple sites.
• Supervise Y BASE staff and act as onsite supervisor when applicable.
• Maintain school age lesson plans and camp activities; assist in newsletters and family communications.
• Build collaborations with local school districts to align programming with policies and procedures.
• Monitor operations to comply with state licensing and YMCA policies; maintain accurate staff and child records.
• Support facility use, events, and fundraising activities; model YMCA core values.
