Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Youth Development Manager to assist in overseeing programs across education, recreation, STEM, and health, reporting to the Clubhouse Director. The role ensures safe operations and compliance with regulations while mentoring youth and coordinating activities.

You will help recruit youth, supervise daily programming, and communicate with families, with a strong emphasis on STEM, literacy, and athletics.

Qualifications

• Advanced customer service skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people in a positive manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience working with young people is a plus.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization.
• Proficient in Google Suite.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare youth for success by creating an environment that fosters achievement and self-worth.
• Ensure a healthy and safe environment; maintain facilities and supplies.
• Assist in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and activities.
• Maintain and distribute marketing and promotional materials.
• Support the Clubhouse Director in managing programs, children, and families.
• Assist with day-to-day lessons/programming with emphasis in STEM, literacy, mentoring, and athletics.
• Coordinate transportation of youth to and from school and activities.
• Respond to parent calls within 24 hours.
• Assist with paperwork updates and tracking per DHS regulations.
• Track and log injury reports.
• Attend staff meetings and prepare program reports.
• Participate in DEI practices and inclusion initiatives.

Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or human services
