Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania (BGCWPA) is seeking a Youth Development Professional for our Aliquippa Clubhouse. This part-time, hourly role focuses on hands-on youth programming, curriculum implementation, and relationship building with participants in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will follow DHS regulations and BGCA safety rules while engaging youth in STEAM, arts, sports, mentoring, and literacy activities, promoting participation in clubhouse events and community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2500 hours experience working with children.
• Interest in a variety of youth programs including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring and recreation.
• Proficiency in Google Suite.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and varied mobility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and support meaningful lesson plans and activities for all youth served.
• Implement educational programming including STEAM, mentoring, athletics, literacy and activities.
• Ensure the safety of all program participants while in care.
• Encourage participation in clubhouse community events.
• Promote and stimulate membership through programs, services, and outreach.
• Participate in monthly incentive programs focusing on literacy, STEM, Art, Mentoring, Athletics and SEL.
• Work with volunteers, tutors, and students in an ongoing education improvement program.
• Promote a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all ages.
• Provide input regarding department programs with approval of Program Manager.
• Observe and report maintenance and safety concerns to the Clubhouse director.
