Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is seeking an enthusiastic part-time staff member to plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate after-school activities for youth at John Muir Middle School in Los Angeles. The role emphasizes creating a safe, engaging environment with dedicated mentors and a focus on learning and youth development.

Responsibilities include promoting participation, registering new members, guiding youth, and maintaining attendance records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications and TB clearance.
• Must have a valid State Driver's License.
• Ability to guide and supervise youth in a safe environment.
• Excellent reliability, punctuality and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Promote and stimulate program participation.
• Register new members and participate in their Club orientation process.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Prepare weekly and monthly schedules of activities.
• Keep written logs of members' observations and progress.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment for youth.
• Assist in planning and implementing quality youth programs.
• May assist in driving Club van as needed (Class B license may be required).
