Job summary

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Carson (BGCC) is seeking an experienced After-school Site Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and implement quality education, enrichment, and recreational programs for youth in grades K-5. You will supervise program staff, ensure safety and strong relationships with schools, parents, and partners.

Responsibilities include developing engaging activities, maintaining records, recruiting members, and representing BGCC at trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• May need to pass a proficiency test (Exempt, if candidate holds a four-year degree).
• Must have organizational and management skills.
• Minimum 3 years of youth development experience in a school, childcare, or after-school program setting.
• Proven track record of supervising and running programs for a class of 20+ youth in various educational, enrichment, and recreational activities.
• Ability to accommodate various learning styles and levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications and TB test clearance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, implementation and supervision of after-school education, enrichment, and recreational programs.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate site staff to ensure effective performance.
• Develop schedules and ensure program activities meet guidelines and health/safety standards.
• Oversee and support a wide range of activities for youth from kindergarten through 5th grade.
• Maintain inventory and proper storage of program equipment.
• Foster positive environment for children to learn, interact and grow.
• Recruit and register new members, and participate in orientation.
• Maintain relationships with supervisor, school personnel, parents and partners.
• Ensure attendance procedures and reporting are accurate.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
• Create and submit accurate program records and reports.
• Assist in recruitment and training of staff and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
