Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is seeking a dedicated youth program staff member to plan, implement, supervise and evaluate activities across Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts and Physical Education.

You will support members with tutoring, attendance tracking and learning center displays while coordinating with staff and parents to ensure safe and meaningful programming. CPR/First Aid and TB clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Knowledge of youth development concepts and practices.
• Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, punctuality and honesty.
• Ability to guide, mentor and role model to youth.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to communicate with parents and teachers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Promote and stimulate program participation.
• Register new members and participate in orientation.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Implement and administer programs, services and activities.
• Provide homework and tutoring assistance.
• Maintain attendance records and collect documentation.
• Prepare schedules and maintain learning center displays.
• Recruit members by contacting schools and parents.
• Monitor safety, quality and appearance of the unit.
• Prepare periodic activity reports.
• Address concerns from parents/teachers and advise leadership.
• Maintain orderly environment and reinforce club rules.
• May drive Club van and assist in other areas.
