Job summary

The YMCA of the East Bay is seeking a Part-Time Group Assistant to support group leaders in supervising students and ensuring their safety. On-site position, focused on engaging activities such as homework help, STEAM, and the arts to support youth development.

You will help with attendance, event planning, and collaboration with staff to sustain program quality and safety. Applicants should be 18+, possess 48 college units or IA exam, and be willing to obtain background checks and CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Must have 48 semester college units, or successful IA Exam completion.
• Experience working with youth in a similar environment preferred.
• Love of working with youth and being a positive role-model.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students to ensure physical and emotional safety.
• Engage groups in developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Maintain attendance records and assist in planning events.
• Collaborate with program team to maintain safety and program quality.
• Provide homework help and academic skill-building support when needed.
• Communicate with supervisor about progress, behavior, and incidents.
