Job summary

Buckner Children and Family Services in Dallas, TX is seeking a Children’s Program Aide to join the Family Hope Center Program. You will assist in daily operations of all children programs including summer programs, after-school programs, field trips, tutoring programs and Saturday activities.

You will be a positive role model through your interactions in providing guidance, supervision, nurturing, assisting with program activities and creating an environment of consistent structure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English professionally.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications; must attend CPR, First Aid and restraint training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide an environment that supports growth, self-confidence, and respect; monitor children's physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic development.
• Participate with youth in character development and service learning activities.
• Maintain a positive attitude when working with children, parents, guests and coworkers.
• Report to supervisor any special needs or problems of individual children.
• Support the program with a regular daily plan including recreation, responsibility, and spirituality.
• Be flexible to implement program changes as directed.
• Assist youth with homework, arts, crafts, and recreation activities.
• Provide safe transportation for children in Buckner vehicles as required.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings, including CPR and First Aid.
