Job summary

Buckner International is seeking a part-time Children’s Program Aide for its Family Hope Center Program in Dallas. You will support daily operations of children’s programs, including after-school and summer activities, field trips, and tutoring, while serving as a positive role model through nurturing guidance and structured activities.

You will assist with homework, crafts, and recreation, help transport children when needed, and participate in CPR/First Aid trainings to ensure safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English professionally.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications; must attend CPR, First Aid and restraint training as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive Buckner vehicles; 21+ and insured.

Responsibilities

• Provide an environment that supports growth, self-confidence, trust, and respect for children; ensure age-appropriate, culturally sensitive environments.
• Participate with youth in character development and service-learning activities.
• Maintain a positive attitude with children, parents, guests and coworkers; report any special needs to supervisor.
• Support daily plans with recreation, responsibility, and spirituality for children in care; adapt to changes as needed.
• Assist youth with homework, arts, crafts, and recreation activities.
• Provide safe transportation for children in Buckner vehicles as required.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings, including CPR and First Aid training.
