Job summary

Navy Region Hawaii Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Leader to provide direct care and instruction for children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years. You will mentor CY Program Assistants, translate training into practice, and help ensure programs meet DoD and national standards.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coordinating with the T&C Specialist, supervising daily schedules, and maintaining compliance through documentation and assessments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs designed for ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles, practices, and techniques.
• Ability to train employees and mentor CY Program Assistants.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• One year of experience at CY-02 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistant team and provide instruction.
• Develop and adapt curriculum and activities for children and youth.
• Ensure indoor and outdoor environments meet safety and program needs.
• Maintain positive interactions with children, youth, and adults.
• Supervise and account for participants during daily activities and trips.
• Communicate with parents and staff about child progress and schedules.
• Assist in assessment tasks and maintain DoD and local compliance.
• Collect program data and support additional duties as assigned.
