Job summary

Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child and Youth Program Leader to provide direct care and instruction for children aged 6 weeks to 18 years, while mentoring CY Program Assistants and translating training into practice. You will guide activity planning, supervision, and family communications in a DoD context.

The role emphasizes program mentoring, curriculum development, and ensuring safety, compliance, and developmental progress across indoor and outdoor settings,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles and practices.
• Ability to train employees on issues including child illnesses and abuse.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and instruction to children and youth.
• Mentor CY Program Assistants and translate training into practice.
• Plan activities and special events meeting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Oversee indoor/outdoor environments and arrange supplies and spaces.
• Ensure safety and compliance with DoD and local standards.
