Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Leader to provide direct care and instruction for children and youth aged 6 weeks to 18 years. The role includes mentoring CY Program Assistants, developing curricula, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in DoD programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles, practices and techniques.
• Skills to apply Federal and State laws on child abuse/neglect.
• Skill in program planning, organizing, and employee scheduling.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• One year experience at CY-02 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistant team.
• Plan activities based on observed needs of children and youth.
• Work with T&C Specialist to implement activities and events.
• Provide care and supervision per DoD, local policies.
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff.
• Observe and document developmental progress and concerns.
• Ensure compliance with DoD certification and national accreditation.
• Collect and report program participation data.
