Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains is seeking a Lead Youth Development Professional in Yankton, SD. This part-time, non-exempt role leads daily youth programs, supervises youth, and coordinates activities with staff and volunteers to promote positive development.

You will organize events, ensure safety, and communicate with parents while supporting behavioral guidance. Requires HS diploma and CPR certification or training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days (training provided in-house).
• Commitment to four days a week and summer hours.
• Ability to work within school year and summer operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and feedback to Youth Development Professionals and Volunteers.
• Plan and oversee delivery of programs and events in assigned area.
• Ensure youth safety, supervision, and a welcoming environment.
• Foster communication with parents, community, and school.
• Support youth with behavioral challenges and implement corrective plans.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and proper signage of facilities and equipment.
• Guide participants with teamwork and responsible behavior.
• Organize daily recreational activities and physical fitness events.
• Attend staff meetings and support performance goals.
• Ensure program activities follow club policies and procedures.
