Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club Of the Northern Plains in Brookings, SD seeks a Lead Youth Development Professional to create, lead, and evaluate daily youth programming in a safe, developmentally appropriate Club environment. You will supervise youth, coach Youth Development Professionals, and model positive interactions while upholding Club values and safety standards.

This part-time, non-exempt position requires high school diploma, CPR certification, and commitment to four days per week, summer hours,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Commitment to working four days a week.
• Ability to create a class schedule for the upcoming semester and meet scheduling needs.
• Must be able to work during the school year and the summer.
• Must understand and apply behavior management principles in youth programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of daily programs and events.
• Encourage member engagement and healthy peer relationships.
• Maintain active supervision and uphold safety standards.
• Ensure spaces are clean, welcoming, and safe.
• Provide real-time and follow-up feedback to staff and volunteers.
• Model positive interactions and Club values.
• Attend required meetings and collaborate with supervisors.
• Facilitate activities building confidence, leadership, and teamwork.
• Document attendance, incidents, assessments, and behavior notes.
