Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston is seeking an Experienced Youth Programs Coordinator at the Stafford Club in Stafford, TX. This part-time position plans, implements, supervises and evaluates programs in education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology and games room to foster youth development and ensure safe, engaging activities.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least two years of experience with youth, strong communication skills, bilingual abilities, MS Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience working with youth and families required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written required.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) required.
• Must be able to interpret Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, Inc. programs and philosophy.
• Valid Texas driver’s license preferred (may be required at some Club locations).
• Must adhere to the BGCGH Employee Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Ensure programs and activities that prepare youth for success and safety; provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Plan, organize and implement a range of noncompetitive programs for drop-in members and visitors daily.
• Initiate new and creative program activities; promote and stimulate program participation.
• Identify opportunities for implementing new programs to benefit club members.
• Monitor and evaluate program achievement against target goals; participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Ensure a healthy and safe environment; supervise members.
• Manage facilities and maintain inventory of program equipment and supplies.
• Recommend and requisition supplies needed for assigned area.
• Work with Club Director to prepare department budget.
• Recruit, train and manage assigned volunteers; provide ongoing feedback; identify and support development opportunities.
• Engage parents regarding opportunities and expectations of club members, as well as general club participation.
