Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston is seeking an experienced youth programs coordinator for Buffalo Creek Club in Houston, TX 77080. This part-time role focuses on planning, implementing, and evaluating a range of education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology and games activities for members.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years’ experience with youth and families, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience working with youth and families required.
• Demonstrated ability and interest in working with youth required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) required.
• Must be able to interpret Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, Inc. programs and philosophy.
• Valid Texas driver’s license preferred (may be required at some Club locations).
• Must adhere to the BGCGH Employee Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and evaluate youth programs in core areas.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Organize noncompetitive daily activities for drop-in members.
• Identify opportunities for new programs to benefit members.
• Monitor program outcomes and participate in staff meetings.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment and supervise members.
• Manage facilities and inventory of program equipment and supplies.
• Assist with department budget planning.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers.
• Engage parents about opportunities and expectations of club members.
