Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston Inc. is seeking an Experienced Lead Youth Development Specialist to oversee diverse club programs in Houston, TX. The position requires a four-year degree and at least five years’ club experience, plus strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. A Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum five years’ work experience in a Boys or Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on youth development needs.
• Ability to interpret Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston programs and philosophy.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Group leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee the administration of designated Club programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.
• Establish Club program goals and objectives aligned with organizational mission.
• Ensure continual evaluation of Club programs and solicit feedback for improvement.
• Control Club program expenditures within approved budgets.
• Assist in allocation and monitoring of program staff and volunteers.
• Identify training opportunities for staff and volunteers.
• Oversee record keeping and reporting of activities and participation.
• Increase visibility of programs through scheduling, announcements, and promotions.
• Coordinate outside resources and experiential learning opportunities for programs.
• May drive Club van for field trips and events.
• Consult with parents regarding member and club issues.
