The Child Center of NY is seeking a part-time Group Leader to set goals for program participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum for after-school programs in NYC. You will help create a safe, supportive learning environment and guide youth through structured activities.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday 2:15 PM–6:00 PM, with staff meetings every other Friday until 7:00 PM. The organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer and treats all applicants without regard to race, color,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data/document maintenance.
  • Experience working with children is required.
  • Able to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Able to prioritize, meet timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Providing homework help, facilitating activities and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours
  • Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance
  • Assist tutors and activity specialist to manage and document behavior
  • Maintain supplies, data collection and upkeep of participants documents
  • Attend all necessary program meetings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
