Job summary

The YMCA of the Inland Northwest is hiring a School Age Program Coordinator in Spokane, WA. This full-time role supports youth programming, ensuring compliant, positive environments and strong relationships with families and staff.

You will assist the Programs Director, monitor licensing standards, and supervise staff while promoting YMCA values in everyday work. Salary starts at $18.50–$20.50 hourly with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 30-45 credits in related field.
• 1–2 years related experience as coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.
• Experience developing behavioral support plans in childcare or educational settings.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Eligible for or holds certifications: Child Abuse Prevention, CPR/AED, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.
• TB Test, DEL MERIT, portable background clearance, fingerprints upon request; 30-hour STARS Basic Training or Education Exemption.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and travel to multiple sites.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff onboarding and required training for licensing compliance.
• Conducts childcare site visits to observe operations and ensure quality and compliance.
• Oversees behavior support across sites; provides documentation and coordinates parent meetings.
• Assist in communications with parents about high-need campers; write Behavior Support Agreements.
• Assist in planning programs and licensing applications to establish new sites.
• Train, develop, and evaluate on-site staff; provide ongoing feedback.
• Monitor DEL licensing standards, including staff/child files and safety.
