Job summary

YMCA of the Inland Northwest in Sandpoint, ID, is seeking a part‑time Youth Development Coordinator to oversee the Child Watch and Family Activity Center operations and deliver outstanding member service to youth and families.

Under the Youth Development Director, you will recruit and supervise staff, maintain attendance logs, ensure safety, assist with program planning and events, and promote YMCA values during daily interactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Ability to lead, coach and build positive relationships with staff, parents and children.
• Experience in program development and supervision preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills with standard business software.
• Completion of YMCA trainings on hire.
• Ability to relate to diverse community groups.

Responsibilities

• Directs overall Child Watch, Youth Enrichment Programs and Family Activity Center operations with emphasis on exceptional service.
• Develops innovative programs engaging youth and families and drives program improvement.
• Ensures all programs are mission-driven and developmentally appropriate.
• Recruit and hire Child Watch, Youth Enrichment and Family Activity Center staff and maintain training programs.
• Maintains accurate attendance logs and ensures positive participant engagement.
• Ensures adequate supplies and equipment and recommends repairs.
• Assists Youth Development Director in planning and executing special events and scheduling.
• Promotes YMCA safety policies and community engagement.
• Addresses member and staff concerns and provides exceptional service.
