Job summary

YMCA of the Inland Northwest is seeking a Youth Development Coordinator to support daily operations of the Child Watch and Family Activity Center and provide outstanding member service. You will supervise staff, implement safe, developmentally appropriate activities, and engage families to promote YMCA programs during operating hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and build positive relationships with staff, parents and children.
• Management and supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills with standard business software.

Responsibilities

• Directs the overall Child Watch, Youth Enrichment Programs and Family Activity Center operations with emphasis on exceptional service.
• Develops innovative programs that engage youth and families and drive program improvement.
• Ensures programs are mission-driven and developmentally appropriate.
• Responsible for safety and supervision of youth and leading developmentally appropriate activities.
• Recruits and hires staff; maintains training, evaluates performance, and ensures appropriate staffing.
• Maintains attendance logs and ensures positive participant engagement.
• Manages supplies and equipment; recommends repairs.
• Plans and executes special events and scheduling.
• Applies safety and child abuse prevention policies; responds to emergencies.
• Participates in committees and staff meetings; promotes the YMCA in the community.
• Provides dialogue with families about participation and connects them to YMCA resources.
• Addresses concerns with exceptional service and escalates when needed.
• Performs additional responsibilities to support YMCA mission.
