Job summary

Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians is seeking a Youth Worker to support a youth program under the Life Long Learning Department. This part-time role (20 hours/week) assists with activities, meals, and serving as a positive role model for Native American youth aged 5–19.

Youth Workers will coordinate with Youth Intervention Specialist and Tribal staff, maintain a 1:5 off-site and 1:10 on-site supervision ratio, and participate in trainings while upholding confidentiality and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Some experience working with youth.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Native Americans and their families.

Responsibilities

• Work a flexible 20-hour week as scheduled by supervisor.
• Assist with meals and snacks for youth.
• Maintain a 1:5 youth ratio off-site and 1:10 on-site or as required.
• Recruit youth aged 5–19 in coordination with Youth Services Program staff.
• Attend trainings as necessary.
