The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is seeking a Student Services Assistant to support the Youth Education and Activities Program for Native American youth from preschool through 12th grade.

You will assist the Youth Services Coordinator in delivering academic, cultural, and recreational activities and help with homework and skills building. The role involves supervising groups, coordinating activities, maintaining records, and communicating with parents and teachers.

Formación

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum of one-year experience working with youth.
• Background check required; Chauffeur’s License within 60 days; valid driver’s license and insurable.
• Evening and weekend availability may be required.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Native American preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with developing program activities, events, and participant recruitment.
• Supervise Youth Education and Activities (YEA) program activities and assist with participant supervision.
• Monitor participants and enforce program policies.
• Teach rules, techniques, and skills of educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
• Establish and complete goals consistent with program goals.
• Recruit and organize the Tribal Youth Council and maintain records of participation.
