Job summary

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians seeks a Part-Time Student Services Assistant to support the Youth Services Coordinator.

You will help coordinate and deliver services for Native American youth from preschool to 12th grade, focusing on academics, cultural growth, recreation, and social development. You will work with students, families, and teachers to reinforce learning, assist with homework, and promote positive outcomes in line with the Youth Education and Activities Program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree, trade, or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience working with youth.
• Background check required; valid driver’s license and chauffeur license within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing program activities, events, and recruitment for participants.
• Participate in Youth Education and Activities program activities and supervise groups.
• Monitor participants and enforce program policies and procedures.
• Teach rules, techniques, and skills for educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
• Maintain records of participation, subjects studied, and communications with parents/teachers.
• Organize supplies and ensure facility aligns with policy.
