Job summary

Impact Kids in California is seeking an energetic black belt martial arts instructor to lead classes for students aged 4–18, implement curriculum, and model outstanding behavior across program sites.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of experience with children and 1–5 years of martial arts teaching, holds a black belt or equivalent, and maintains current CPR/First Aid certification. Teaching certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children.
• Martial arts teaching experience (1–5 years) required.
• Black belt or equivalent rank in karate or a compatible martial art required.
• Teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily martial arts instruction to students aged 4–18 with different ability levels.
• Demonstrate martial arts techniques and explain underlying principles, observe and assess students, and give feedback on progress.
• Group supervision focusing on behavior, health and safety, security, and personal development.
• Ensure safety of students and team members and teach safe training habits; enforce all rules.
• Organize and prepare daily lesson plans in a fun and creative manner.
• Use effective classroom management to lead activities and create an inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists and serve as a positive role model to students.
• Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct and maintain company look at all times.
• Exhibit Impact Kids Core Values and adhere to company policies.
