Job summary

Exalt is seeking an Internship Coordinator in New York City to build partnerships and place court-involved youth in meaningful internships. You will work with the program team, teachers, and alumni to place 15–20 core participants per cycle and ensure strong, ongoing partner relationships.

The role requires 3–5 years in youth development or related fields, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to engage diverse partners across corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in internship placement, partnership building or youth work is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in youth development, internship, partnership or network development fields.
• Familiarity with court-involved youth or similar populations.
• Strong understanding of NYC area relationships in the criminal justice and human services landscape.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and develop new external partnerships to advance interns’ education and career goals.
• Utilize internal connections to cultivate additional internship opportunities.
• Sustain and strengthen existing internship relationships with partners.
• Outreach by phone, email, and in person to NYC businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits.
• Coordinate placement for 15–20 core participants per cycle and assist with scheduling.
• Collaborate with Teachers and Program Coordinators on placements and interviews.
• Support Alumni department with graduate internships and retention efforts.
• Capture all internship data in Salesforce and track outcomes.
• Assist with events, outreach, and other engagement tasks as needed.
• Organize internship match meetings to align participant interests with sites.
• Contribute to annual cultivation events, galas, and mixers.
