Vancouver Housing Authority seeks a Housing Specialist - Outreach to assist youth and young adults aged 12-24 facing homelessness or housing instability. You will guide clients through the coordinated entry process and connect them with shelter and housing options, while collaborating with partner agencies to reduce barriers to stable housing.

The role requires in‑person work in Vancouver, WA with a potential hybrid schedule after 30 days.

Formación

• At least four years’ experience working directly with people who are low income and/or homeless.
• Experience working with youth and young adults.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including those with mental health or substance use challenges.
• Commitment to ensuring equitable access to homeless services.
• Experience with public speaking, presentations and facilitating meetings.
• Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and access to automobile.
• Strong cultural awareness and humility.
• Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with de‑escalation and crisis intervention, in person or over the phone.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain flexibility and work within a collaborative team to ensure access to coordinated entry and resources.
• Develop partnerships and referral opportunities with systems of care for youth.
• Engage with homeless individuals to place them in shelter and housing programs.
• Provide diversion coaching and financial assistance as needed.
• Maintain client‑centered files and data entry per funding Source requirements.
• Meet with clients in the field, at satellite locations, or by phone.
• Provide outreach services during evenings and at least one weekend day per schedule.
• Ensure eligibility determinations meet funding requirements and document appropriately.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues and partnering agencies.
• Apply trauma‑informed and equity lenses in service delivery.
