Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Group Leader to supervise and support children in before/after school and summer programs. You will help create engaging activities, promote safety, and foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising groups, maintaining records, and collaborating with the program coordinator to ensure smooth daily operations. This role emphasizes a fun, inclusive environment and community involvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC.
• Experience with children in group settings preferred.
• Understanding of child development and safety.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a group of children safely and adapt activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement educational and enrichment activities.
• Supervise children and maintain safety.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Communicate with program coordinator and collaborate with staff.
• Maintain attendance and incident records.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and resource management.
• Participate in required training and staff meetings.
