Job summary

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is seeking a Parent/Caregiver Partner (Mentor) to provide direct care, mentorship, and support to youth and families in community, home, or school settings. You will share recovery experiences and assist in navigating systems to promote resilience and well-being.

As part of East Bay Wrap, you will contribute to a culturally responsive, family-centered approach while documenting outcomes and participating in ongoing training and supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience as a consumer of services in social services, mental health, residential treatment or wraparound services for youth with special needs.
• Prior youth/family advocacy experience desirable
• Ability to use de-escalation techniques aligned with trauma-informed care in crisis situations
• Demonstrated cultural responsiveness when working with diverse families
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with electronic clinical documentation
• Clean driving record and CA driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 10 days)
• CMPSS certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and engagement with youth, young adults, and families in community, home, or school settings.
• Offer hope, one-on-one support, and mentorship by sharing recovery experiences and navigating systems.
• Document patterns of behavior and incidents; participate in training and supervision meetings as needed.
