Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of leadership experience in recreation, education, youth development, child care, or related settings.
• College-level courses in recreation, education, child development may substitute for experience.
• Proof of education may be required at time of appointment.
• Possession of a California Class C Driver License is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct recreation, educational enrichment, child care, and community programs at neighborhood facilities.
• Design, evaluate, and adjust programs and activities as needed.
• Determine facility, equipment, scheduling, and staffing requirements.
• Coordinate activities with related departments and outside agencies.
• Develop and distribute promotional materials and provide information/referrals to families.
• Provide training for lower-level staff and supervise volunteers.
• Prepare reports and grant-related materials for assigned programs.
• Coordinate recruitment of part-time and seasonal staff.
• Interact with the public and other agencies; answer inquiries.
