The Program Coordinator for 4th \"R\" is responsible for overseeing a program that provides care and enrichment for children ages 5 to 12 outside of regular school hours, including before and after school, during holidays, and over the summer. This position involves planning and managing age-appropriate activities, supervising and training staff, ensuring the program complies with state licensing and safety regulations, and maintaining effective communication with families. Additionally, this position handles administrative tasks such as accounting, enrollment, and maintaining necessary records. Their primary goal of the Program Coordinator is to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that fosters children's social, emotional, and academic growth.
The ideal candidate for a Program Coordinator will be a dedicated and experienced leader with a strong background in school-age education. They will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a proven ability to manage and mentor staff effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of child development, licensing regulations, and best practices in out-of-school-time programming. Two years of leadership experience in a recreational, educational, youth development, child care, special events, or community service setting, which included responsibilities such as organizing and providing general guidance over the activities of children, teenagers, and adults.
Successful completion of college-level courses with major course work in recreation, education, child development, or a closely related field may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Completion of thirty (30) semester units is equivalent to one year of experience.

An applicant with a college degree obtained outside the United States must have education records evaluated by a credential's evaluation service. Evaluation of education records will be due at time of appointment.
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License at the time of appointment. Loss of the Class C License is cause for discipline. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be considered for accommodation on a case-by-case basis.
This position is designated as a Mandatory Reporter; completion of Mandatory Reporter training is required within two weeks of employment.
