Job summary

City of Sacramento seeks a Program Developer to oversee the year-round on-site recreational and educational curriculum for an elementary-age program. The ideal candidate will understand Title 22 regulations and bring teaching experience in licensed childcare or similar settings.

Responsibilities include planning, developing, and assisting in operation of programs, supervising staff, organizing activities and events, and ensuring safety and quality of services.

Qualifications

• One year of leadership experience in recreation, education, child care, or community service settings.
• Knowledge of Department of Social Services Title 22 regulations for childcare.
• college coursework or degree in recreation, education, child development, gerontology, or related field; substitution rules may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop recreation, educational enrichment, child care, and community programs and activities.
• Select activities suitable for children, adolescents, and adults.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and participants.
• Review program plans with leaders and instruct on implementation.
• Participate in and evaluate activities, events, and programs.
• Instruct participants in various activities and arrange field trips and guest speakers.
• Assist with site newsletters and communications.
• Lead, train, and assist with evaluating assigned staff.
• Arrange for materials and supplies; monitor inventory; maintain facilities and equipment.
• Inspect site and equipment for safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Serve as Program Coordinator in absence and maintain monthly reports.
