Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a part-time Youth Empowerment Program Coordinator to support the CARES Program within Empower U. The role involves youth facilitation, workshop support and coordination across multiple community sites in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with youth, skilled in facilitation, and committed to equity‑focused, culturally responsive programming.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience facilitating or assisting with youth programming.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with adolescents.
• Comfortable leading interactive activities with prepared curriculum materials.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work in person at multiple sites in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area.
• Ability to work independently on-site with regular supervisor communication.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, community education or facilitation roles.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging workshops using an established curriculum on social-emotional learning and future readiness.
• Build supportive relationships with youth and foster an inclusive space.
• Encourage youth voice, participation and reflection in sessions.
• Deliver content at assigned sites and help prepare materials and space.
